We want volunteers to help with public events, community groups and school group visits and activities at a local nature reserve or other managed wildlife site.
Volunteers are needed to help with public events, community groups and school group visits and activities at Chard Reservoir Local Nature Reserve and Ham Hill. Volunteers can volunteer across all sites, or focus on the site of their choice.
Chard Reservoir Local Nature Reserve is a fantastic site for bird watching and walking, following wildflower meadows through to woodland edge surrounding the expanse of open water with spectacular scenery.
Ham Hill is a stunning wildlife haven centred around an Iron Age hillfort, it is a nationally important Historic Monument and one of the largest Iron Age hillforts in the UK. As well as the 88.1 hectare Scheduled Ancient Monument, it has beautiful wildflower meadows, spectacular wildlife, fascinating geology and striking Iron Age rampart archaeology.
You'll help to deliver a variety of enjoyable events and activities aimed at raising both adults' and children's awareness of the environment, using different techniques in different situations. You'll also delivery your own activities and sometimes provide one to one support to learners.
No experience is necessary, but a passion for the environment is vital!
All training and resources are provided.
