We want to build a team of volunteers to support our youth workers at weekly sessions, helping young people to engage. You don't need to commit to each week!

Youth Club runs on Thursdays during term time from 5pm to 7pm. The youth club is designed to give young people a safe place to be, positive things to do and support where they need it. As a volunteer your role will be to help the youth workers to run sessions, help young people to find their way, and give them a positive adult role model. Sessions are informed by the young people and may include crafts, games, cookery or sports. There is a quiet area for reading, colouring or chatting and a larger room for more active games etc. When possible we will take the young people outside.

We aim to build a team of volunteers who can support the youth club so that they don't need to be at each session but can chose the dates that work for them. The young people attending all face disadvantage and may have additional needs or behavioural issues - sensitivity and a non-judgemental approach are essential.

The role is very satisfying as you will see young people enjoying themselves and having fun, and can gently help them to deal with their challenges, building self esteem as you go. The youth club is relatively new but is already having a big impact on those who attend - you will be part of that impact.

We support volunteers with training and DBS checks where necessary, supervision, expenses and your own ID badge and high vis vest or T shirt!
