Help support our fundraising activities!
Be part of our transformation to sustainable funding sources, allowing us to continue supporting local families into the future with confidence
What you might be doing
As a fundraising volunteer you might:
- Support our runners in the Bath Half Marathon, cheering them on around the course, handing out goody bags when they finish, or even running for us!
- Help to run a stall at a Christmas Fair selling hand made and donated goods and raising awareness of our work,
- Collect donations at the annual Children’s Festival, either at a stall or walking around the site (fancy dress is optional!), encouraging people to give a regular donation and letting them know about our range of services,
- Help us run our own fundraising event such as a ceilidh or silent disco – help to run the bar, collect glasses, set up tables and decorations, sell raffle tickets, welcome people into the event,
- Help at the monthly bingo sessions at the Key Centre, the proceeds from which come to Purple Elephant,
- Bring your own ideas! Do you know something that has worked well before or you’d like to try something new? All ideas are welcome.
What you won’t be doing!
- Knocking on people’s doors asking for donations,
- Cold calling people asking for support,
- Standing in the street with a donation tin.
What support will you receive?
You’ll be part of a friendly team including our staff and trustees who will answer any questions you have, give you a full briefing as necessary and make sure you have all the resources you need to carry out your fundraising role. We’ll also be there to welcome and develop any new ideas you have and receive feedback about our fundraising activities. If any special skills are needed you’ll be offered appropriate training, such as food safety.
Why join our fundraising team?
Your role will be key to us securing enough funding to continue our services, especially as grant funding is becoming harder to secure. You will be a vital part of our team and the role will suit people who want to support us but don't want to work directly with families or children. Our fundraising activities are ad hoc and mostly one-off so they are very flexible and can fit around your availability.
