Help transform our sanctuary grounds for rescued animals. Volunteer 2-4 hours weekly maintaining gardens, pathways and overgrown areas.

Are you green-fingered and looking to make a difference for rescued animals?

Pear Tree Farm Animal Sanctuary is seeking a dedicated Volunteer Gardener to help maintain and improve our sanctuary grounds. Home to over 80 rescued animals, our sanctuary relies on volunteers to help keep the environment safe, welcoming and enjoyable for both animals and visitors.

What you'll be doing

  • Cutting back overgrown areas around the sanctuary
  • Maintaining pathways and visitor areas
  • Pruning shrubs, hedges and plants where needed
  • Helping keep outdoor spaces tidy and accessible
  • Supporting occasional planting and landscaping projects
  • Identifying areas that could benefit from improvement

What we're looking for

  • Someone with gardening experience and confidence working independently
  • A practical, hands-on approach and willingness to work outdoors in all seasons
  • The ability to safely use gardening tools and equipment
  • A genuine interest in animal welfare and supporting a charity
  • Reliability and commitment

Commitment

  • Approximately 2–4 hours per week (flexible)
  • Minimum commitment of 6 months
  • Weekday availability preferred, although this may be flexible
  • Volunteers will need to provide their own gardening equipment and tools
