Come to the Ticket Office to be directed to the Waiting Room for 10.30. We will take you around the site meeting our team leaders who will explain the different roles available, including: Signal Box restoration, Footplate and Workshop, Vintage Carriage Restoration, Crossing Keepers, Guard, Travelling Ticket Inspectors, Shop and Ticket Office assistants, Train Preparation volunteers.

Looking for a volunteering role that provides great satisfaction and oodles of camaraderie? The East Somerset Heritage Steam Railway welcomes new volunteers in a variety of roles. As well as hands-on, practical work maintaining our railway line and our steam locomotive and Signal Box restoration projects, we require public facing roles during the summer season such as Guards, Travelling Ticket Inspectors, Shop and Ticket Office staff. The ESR is a dynamic and friendly organization that offers flexible time commitment according to your availability, social events, free train rides for you and discounts for your friends and family.
