Community Drop-In Volunteer
Help create a warm welcome for people who need support.
Connect Community Trust is looking for friendly and reliable volunteers to help run our community drop-in sessions. As a Drop-In Volunteer, you will be one of the first people visitors meet, helping to create a safe, welcoming space where people feel valued, heard, and supported.
What you'll be doing:
- Setting up the drop-in space before sessions
- Preparing and serving tea, coffee, and refreshments
- Welcoming and chatting with visitors
- Listening with empathy and without judgement
- Helping people feel included and connected
- Signposting individuals to relevant services and support
- Assisting with tidying up at the end of the session
We're looking for someone who:
- Is friendly, approachable, and a good listener
- Enjoys meeting and talking with a wide range of people
- Can maintain appropriate boundaries and confidentiality
- Is reliable and willing to work as part of a team
- Shares our commitment to supporting people facing challenges such as homelessness, financial hardship, isolation, or poor mental health
What you'll gain:
- The opportunity to make a meaningful difference in your community
- Experience working alongside an established local charity
- Training, support, and ongoing guidance
- The chance to meet new people and develop valuable skills
No previous experience is necessary. A warm welcome, a listening ear, and a willingness to help are the most important qualities.
Join us and help create a place where everyone feels welcome, valued, and connected.
