We are looking for people to join our friendly team in a rewarding and varied support role, offering bespoke support and guidance to clients attending the Hubs.

Detailed description

We are looking for people to join our friendly team in a rewarding and varied support role, to offer bespoke support and guidance to clients who attend the Hubs, either through pre planned appointments or drop in, and are looking to get back into employment. To signpost clients to relevant agencies who can offer further specialist support and break down barriers to employment.


As a Support Volunteer you may well;

Provide 1:1 support to people in the community.

Help clients with accessing the job market via CV writing, job searching, interview preparation and completing applications.

Support clients to build confidence, self-esteem and identify skills.

Give IT support to clients.

Assist clients in finding and attending any education and training available.

Signpost the client and/or refer the client to other support agencies and partner organisations.

Write out funding applications on behalf of the client to access financial support where needed.


As a volunteer you will have;

A kind and compassionate nature

Good basic administration

Feel passionate about helping others

Good organisational skills

Great communication skills

A friendly and approachable manner and enjoy meeting people

A positive attitude

Be comfortable filling in forms and using IT

The ability to recognise when people need further support

The ability to build working relationships to support clients and the team

Our Bridgwater hub runs on the1st Monday of the month 10am - 12pm. We ask that volunteers arrive a bit before to help set up the hub ready for the clients.

About Community Employment Hubs

The Community Employment Hubs provide a free employment support service for people across West Somerset, Taunton, Wellington and Bridgwater. The hubs offer flexible support to people to overcome their own personal barriers to skills development and employment. We know that those who attend the hubs benefit from increased confidence and self-esteem. We are determined for this support to reach as many people as possible and we can’t do that without our team of amazing volunteers. The holistic approach and ethos of the hubs have proved to have a positive contribution towards the confidence, self-esteem, social interaction and health and well-being of those who attend. Enabling non judgemental support and free internet access in all hubs.
