Outdoor Activity Assistant - Charterhouse, Blagdon
Would you like to support young people at our outdoor activity centres, helping them undertake memorable and often life changing opportunities? As an outdoor activity assistant, you will support our instructors leading adventurous and outdoor learning sessions, including beach walks, teambuilding activities, climbing and campfires. You will receive training on delivering the different activities we offer, from pond dipping to caving (we tailor the choice of activity to suit the preferences and strengths of the volunteer). You will also be trained to support learning with young people. In this role you will help support young people and learners who visit our outdoor Centres. The visits children have at our centres are often one of the most memorable educational experiences they have during the academic year and we are constantly striving to make the most of these opportunities for all the young people we work with. Our friendly team will proactively support you in your role. We will train you to work effectively with young people, and fully understand the learning objectives of our sessions. We also provide in house training to ensure you are confident in complying with our rigorous health and Safety procedures and fully understand the learning objectives of our sessions. First aid training is also available. This role supports the work of our outdoor centres which provide memorable and often life changing opportunities for young people. We would welcome you into our friendly and supportive team and proactively support you in the role. We provide training on delivering activities and supporting learning with young people and on the different activities we offer, from pond dipping to caving (we tailor the choice of activity to suit the preferences and strengths of the volunteer). We would look to a commitment of 2 days per month, or more (we can accommodate a regular one day a week arrangement).
