Lateral Flow Testing Volunteer - Bridgwater
The Public Health team at Somerset County Council are looking for volunteers to support health care professionals administer lateral flow Covid19 testing at our Somerset sites. Regular lateral flow tests are arranged for all staff working in health and social care and ensures that the Covid-19 virus is detected before it spreads. This helps to reduce transmission, protect the NHS and save lives. Anyone suspected of having the virus is not tested at this site.
The role will be varied to include, 'meet and greet' patients who are visiting the site, helping with directions and enquiries and as testing assistants You will not be administering a test, and are in a supervision and support role. You will be expected to cover all roles in rotation - providing a good mix of experience as part of a busy team.
You will be offered a regular Covid test yourself and a vaccination to help keep you and your family safe, you will also be provided with full PPE.
Relevant training will be given including a face to face training session on your first day and an on-line module beforehand.
The site will be open for 7 days a week from the 22nd of February and we can offer shifts of 4 hours from 6.30 am through til 9.30 at night. Once accepted onto the team, shift patterns can be agreed with you.
