About Citizens Advice (Taunton)

We are an independent charity that provides free, confidential and impartial advice for people who live and work in Taunton Deane. Our goal is to help everyone find a way forward, whatever problem they face. We value diversity, promote equality and challenge discrimination.

Volunteers are the life-force of our organisation and without them we would not be able to deliver the level of service we offer.

Becoming a volunteer may seem a little daunting, but don't worry, you will be joining a supportive and friendly team. Whatever your experience, skills or interests, we have a role for you. We will train, mentor and support you in whatever role you choose to do.

We do expect a solid commitment from volunteers of a day a week for a reasonable length of time, but in return we hope to provide you with a great experience, a very supportive environment, travel expenses, and a reference, should you require it. All the roles need an induction into the organisation, and then some training. You may well have some knowledge in the areas you need, and we value that, but full training will be given.

We are part of the Citizens Advice network across England and Wales. We also work in partnership with other agencies and groups.
