Summary

Our warm, fun community project is looking for someone who likes connecting with others through activities and wants to support their local community.

Detailed description

Alongside our Member Coordinator, you will be finding out what activities and events our members want -asking and listening, with confidence, to thoughts and ideas from the members of our project. You’ll also be offering some ideas of your own. There will be opportunities to support our days out. Additionally, you may also be helping members access community facilities and/or resources.

The best person for this role will be warm and creative, good at being organised and can link well with our members with compassion, patience and empathy. You’ll be good at negotiating with a range of different people and be able to share personal experiences of mental health and recovery to support, empower and bring hope to others.

It would also be great if you had experience in arranging social activities in a supportive setting and a good knowledge of person-centred practice

Our project is a lovely setting to work in as our members encourage a warm and welcoming place to be, you’ll be warmly welcomed into this. We also recognise that training and development are very important and we offer a range of on-going training opportunities and emotional and professional support to all our volunteers.
