  • Liaising with Trustees and the Rota Coordinator in line with Museum Policy and Procedures and best practice

Aims of the role

  • Introduce new volunteers to the Museum ensuring they complete the Induction programme, and meet other volunteers who can support their achievement
  • Maintain Volunteer records ensuring confidentiality in line with GDPR and the Museum’s Privacy Policy
  • Recommend, to Trustees, amendments and updates to the relevant Volunteer Policy and Procedures, Volunteer Agreement and Role Terms of Reference(s)
  • Plan, with Trustees, an annual programme of events to engage volunteers e.g., Health and Safety, Dementia Awareness, annual volunteer ‘get-together’, and engagement with the history held in the Museum
  • Liaise with the Rota Coordinator to ensure that the needs of the Stewards are met through the Museum’s Training events and activities

About Chard Museum
Chard Museum exists to help today's community uncover yesterday's heritage, history and hidden stories. It is a small local museum based in Chard, Somerset, that opened in 1970 and celebrated its 50th anniversary last year. It is housed in a converted 16th century thatched, listed building. It was originally four cottages. Later it incorporated the building next door which had been the New Inn Public House.
