SummaryWould you like to gain valuable fundraising experience that may help kickstart your career in the charity sector, with training and support from SPARK Somerset?
C.L.O.W.N.S (Creating Learning Opportunities in Western Somerset) is moving into an exciting new phase of change and growth, including the launch of a new volunteer programme.
To initiate the programme we are looking for a dynamic, ambitious individual who is eager to gain a range of valuable skills and experience to help them on their way towards a career in the voluntary sector; someone who wants to make a difference and contribute directly to making a meaningful, positive difference to peoples lives.
Fundraising is a core skill that is highly valued. With this opportunity you will work alongside the C.L.O.W.N.S Chief Executive Officer and learn how to successfully craft bids, while actively supporting the work of the charity. Excitingly you will also receive additional training and support from SPARK Somerset, a leading volunteer provider of advice, training, and support to charities and community groups throughout the county.
For 25 years Minehead based children’s charity C.L.O.W.N.S has advanced the education and development of children and young people in the West of Somerset; facilitating opportunities for play, storytelling and other activities, supporting the improvement of physical, mental and cultural wellbeing.
We are now shifting our focus to respond to the ever-changing needs of children and young people, specifically in light of the COVID-19 pandemic. Promoting social inclusion and the importance of supporting individual aspirations, learning and development, we aim to promote positive lifestyle habits, good mental health and wellbeing; addressing issues relating to social isolation and social mobility, supporting children of “marginalised” and vulnerable families by delivering activities and projects that are vibrant and innovative, with evidence based outcomes.
